H2O Geomatics at ESA's 3rd EO Commercialisation Forum in Seville
H2O Geomatics is attending the ESA 3rd EO Commercialisation Forum this week in Seville, Spain (12–14 May 2026). We are looking forward to engaging with the Earth Observation community and discussing opportunities related to water resources, floods, droughts, cryosphere monitoring, AI-driven EO analytics, and environmental decision-support systems. As we continue expanding our European activities through Hydro-EO, we welcome discussions with potential collaborators and partners across research, industry, and government. If you are attending the forum, feel free to connect or reach out.

EGU General Assembly 2026 – Canadian Lake Ice Cover in the Early 21st-Century
This week, H2O Geomatics is at the EGU General Assembly 2026 in Vienna, Austria (3–8 May), one of the world's largest gatherings of Earth, planetary, and space scientists. On Monday 4 May, Justin Murfitt presented "Canadian Lake Ice Cover in the Early 21st-Century" (Session OS1.9, EGU26-2593). The talk introduced a new operational product providing daily lake ice coverage at 500 m resolution for more than 36,000 Canadian lakes larger than 2.25 km².

Launch of Hydro-EO – New European Office in Portugal
H2O Geomatics is pleased to announce the launch of Hydro-EO, a new European-based Earth Observation R&D&I initiative focused on advancing water intelligence from space. Building on established expertise in satellite remote sensing and cryosphere science (snow and ice), Hydro-EO extends these capabilities toward the observation, analysis, and prediction of water systems in their liquid form across diverse environments. The initiative also contributes to strengthening collaboration between Canada and Portugal, and more broadly across European research and innovation ecosystems in Earth Observation, artificial intelligence, and space-related activities.
